Nigerian Society of Engineers Honours Governor Seyi Makinde for Outstanding Commitment to Infrastructure
The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Ondo State Chapter, has presented an Award of Recognition to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, in appreciation of his exceptional contributions to infrastructural development and engineering excellence in Oyo State.
The prestigious award was presented during a courtesy visit by a high-powered delegation of engineers and industry leaders to the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.

Joining the delegation was Engr. (Dr.) Babatunde Lawal, Chairman of Brail Construction, and Engr. Omoregie, a director with Brail Construction, both of whom praised the Governor for his open-door policy, technical engagement with local professionals, and commitment to home-grown engineering solutions.
“As stakeholders in Nigeria’s construction industry, we have witnessed the Governor’s deliberate efforts to create an enabling environment for engineers to thrive and contribute meaningfully,” Dr. Lawal stated. “His administration is a model of how engineering-led governance can work.”
Governor Makinde Responds
Receiving the award, Governor Makinde expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Nigeria Society of Engineers, noting that the recognition reinforces his administration’s resolve to continue building world-class infrastructure in Oyo State.
“This award is an honour, not just to me but to every engineer in the public sector who works daily to improve lives through innovation and service,” the Governor said. “We will continue to engage engineers at every level to drive sustainable development in our state.”

Strengthening Public–Private Partnerships
The visit further cemented the relationship between the NSE, the Oyo State Government, and private sector players such as Brail Construction, as discussions touched on future collaborations for engineering capacity development, mentoring programs for young engineers, and major infrastructure pipeline planning.
